10 Things You Didn’t Know About The Insidious Film Franchise

8. Insidious Only Took 3 Weeks To Shoot

On a meagre budget of $1.5 million it should come as no surprise that they didn't have too long to shoot the first Insidious film, but even with that budget 3 weeks is not a long time.

On average most films can take anywhere between 2-3 months to shoot, longer if you're a crazy big budget spectacle. This is the horror genre however, and horrors tend to have shorter production times. Lead actor Patrick Wilson, who plays Josh Lambert in the franchise, has been quoted as saying "We had long days and a lot of pages a day, and we didn’t get a lot of coverage or rehearsal".

Despite all that, based on the quality of the film the short filming time didn't hurt it in anyway.
