10 Things You Didn't Know About Alden Ehrenreich

2. He's Technically Already Worked Alongside A Stars Wars Star

With a relatively spare filmography (though a rather prestigious one, as will be touched upon soon), it's difficult to get a sense of how Alden might integrate into the Star Wars universe. Casting an unknown is generally a good idea, and worked incredibly well when it came to The Force Awakens. Yet the character he's playing is far, far from unknown.

What's amusing, however, is that Alden has technically already acted alongside someone from the Star Wars universe. In 2011, Ehrenreich appeared in a Miss Dior Cherie perfume advertisement, alongside Natalie Portman (who played Padme Amidala in the Star Wars prequels).

During the ad, Alden and Natalie portray a touchy couple incensed by the power of perfume. Though it has no bearing on how well Alden will play a young Han Solo, it's still a curious little connection to Star Wars.

What is interesting is that the commercial was directed by Sofia Coppola, Francis Ford Coppola's daughter. This follows on from the fact that in 2009 Alden appeared uncredited in her film Somewhere, and before that his debut was in Francis Ford Coppola's Tetro. Clearly, the Coppola family are quite fond of young Alden.
