It's probably best to let Kendrick explain this one since she does it so, uh, elegantly:
"I know everybody is, but Im totally obsessed with Beyoncé. I walked past Beyoncé at one point, and because Im not worthy I didnt look at her. We did make a detour down the front just to walk past Beyoncé: Well just walk past her and get some of her aura. We walked past and my friend was like, Dude, she was motioning to you and you just walked past her! And I panicked. I mean, I didnt know quite what to do, but I thought, Once in a lifetime, just do it. I went back and I was like, Im so sorry to do this, I just wanted to meet you. Youre such an inspiration. And she stood up - she was so nice - and she points to Jay Zand was like, Oh, we just watched you on the Kennedy Center Honors. You were so great. You were so cute in your little red dress."
Kendrick likes to describe this incident as though it was super embarrassing, but it actually sounds like Beyonce was a bit of a fan. Then again, what's not to love? You might also notice that Beyoncé refers to Kendrick singing on the Kennedy Center Honors, which you may recall from earlier in this article was the occasion that marked the time when Kendrick made President Obama laugh hysterically.
