2. He Turned Down The Role Of John McClane In Die Hard

Just as Arnold Schwarzenegger's face has become synonymous with the Terminator, so too has Bruce Willis's become intrinsically associated with the hero of the Die Hard movies, John McClane. But movie history could have turned out very differently, and the role may well have gone to Arnie. Talking about the offer to play John McClane, Arnie said, "...there was an unfinished script, which someone gave me and said, 'Would you want to play this?' I was working with Joel Silver on Predator and Die Hard was his next movie. So we talked about it but then he hired Bruce Willis." Of all the roles Arnie has turned down over the years, the one he regrets rejecting the most is Michael Bay's The Rock. "I love the movie, and it turned out well. When it was offered to me there was only an 80 page script with a lot of handwriting and scribbles and it didn't seem fully baked. But they obviously did a fantastic job."
