10 Things You Didn't Know About Back To The Future

5. The Time Machine Was Originally Conceived As A Refrigerator

"I'll have a finely-aged wine from around the 16th century please Doc!" Is what you probably would have heard at some point in the Back To The Future series, had the time machine actually been a fridge. The Infinitely-Stocked Fridge Time Machine would have been a brilliant title and premise for the film, but alas, Back To The Future's film crew decided to go with a DeLorean instead, apparently because the unique doors made it look more like a spaceship. Besides, it's not immediately clear how both Marty and the Doc would have managed to fit into said kitchen appliance. As far as spin-off ideas go though, who wouldn't like to see a new duo build a time machine out of Doc's old blueprints and travel around time handing out various beverages to wide-eyed citizens. You heard the idea here first, don't you dare try and steal such a fabulous premise!
