10 Things You Didn't Know About Black Widow

6. Her Connection With Captain America Goes Way Back

In the Marvel movies, Black Widow and Captain America are two of the most frequently paired up allies, appearing in both the Avengers films and the Captain America films. Though both are extremely strong, trained fighters and their movies are frequently violent and dark, their (entirely platonic) relationship is often a light spot. In the comics, their connection is even stronger. During her training with the Red Room Academy, Natasha was injected with a Soviet variation of the serum that gave Captain America his strength and resilience. They were both created by their governments to be useful in war. Also, one of Natasha's trainers (with whom she also had a romantic relationship) was James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes, Captain America's former best friend. By the time he met Natasha, he had morphed into his Winter Soldier persona and was training her to defeat the people he had once called allies.
