10 Things You Didn't Know About Ghostface

8. The Cast Never Met Ghostface On Set

Neither Skeet Ulrich, who played teenage psycho number one Billy Loomis, or Mathew Lillard, peer pressured maniac companion Stu Macher, actually voiced Ghostface.

Right down to the grunts and groans of pain, the full credit goes to voice actor Roger L. Jackson. Jackson’s other work includes playing the voice of Mojo Jojo (try saying that three times) in the Power Puff Girls animated series. Perhaps a Scream and Power Puff Girls crossover is secretly in the works? Stranger things have happened.

The actor was initially going to merely create temporary sounds to be dubbed over in post-production, but Craven liked how his voice sounded “evil” and “intelligent.”, according to the Scream Trivia page on iMDB. I think that’s a compliment?

The cast never actually even met him, as Wes Craven didn’t want the actors to put the name to the face, thus maintaining an air of menace. To take it even further, Wes Craven himself donned the costume in some scenes so that there was even more mystery surrounding the character.
