4. Gremlins Was One Of The First Scripts Chris Columbus Sold
Chris Columbus is now a household name after directing the Harry Potter films, Home Alone, and RENT, but back in the 80s, he was just any other recent film school graduate. Gremlins was one of the first films he was successfully able to sell and his fourth script overall. He said he was inspired to create Gremlins by hearing mice move around his walls at night. The original Gremlins film was originally supposed to be a dark satire of the Christmas Classic Its a Wonderful Life.
