This is one of the worst-kept secrets in the entertainment biz, but many are still surprised to find out that Elba has his fingers in any number of pies. Or, more accurately, on the decks: in 2011 and 2012 he hosted the Channel 4 specials How Hip Hop Changed The World and How Clubbing Changed The World, introducing the world at large to his other big passion. In case you missed both of those shows, here's a refresher. Whilst he's now primarily known for his considerable acting chops, Elba actually started his showbiz career when he helped out his uncle's wedding DJ business, sparking a passion for mixing that he followed through on to this day. After winning a place at the National Youth Music Theatre, he worked under the pseudonym DJ Big Driis (or Big Driis the Londoner), playing clubs and glitzy celebrity parties across the globe, as well as co-producing and performing vocals on the intro to Jay-Z's 2007 album American Gangster.
