10 Things You Didn't Know About Inglourious Basterds

8. Eli Roth Directed Nation's Pride

Even a fictional film within a film needs to be directed. Nation's Pride, the propaganda film we see parts of in Inglourious Basterds, was actually directed by a famous horror director, not Tarantino himself. Eli Roth, known for films like Cabin Fever and other collaborations with Tarantino himself was actually the director behind the black and white short film. Fredrick Zoller (Daniel Brühl) is the star of the short film and one of the main characters of the film. The story goes that Zoller manages to take out a whole platoon of advancing soldiers just with the use of a vantage point and a rather powerful sniper rifle. No doubt he must have had a pretty large stockpile of ammo up in that tower with him - we can't imagine every single shot would have been a hit.
