10 Things You Didn't Know About Jaws

3. Spielberg Would Revisit the Orca at Universal Studios Hollywood

When filming on Jaws was finally completed, many of the props and mechanical sharks ended up all over the place. Sadly, Bruce (named after Spielberg's lawer) himself sunk the bottom of the seabed to sleep with the real fishes. Many other props, such as clothes and small items, ended up in various Universal theme parks, while one of Orca boats used in the film was shipped over to Universal Studios Hollywood to sit in the lagoon beside the Jaws tour spot. Although the difficult production of Jaws continues to give Spielberg nightmares to this day, Spielberg would make frequent visits to the Orca to reminisce about his time spent making the film. Sitting there entirely by himself as the visitor tram would come and go, Spielberg used the time to reflect on how the film gave him the freedom to make Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and the number of doors which it opened up to his career.
