10 Things You Didn't Know About Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

5. Michael Bay First Directed Her In A Victoria's Secret Commercial

Most people probably assume that Michael Bay got wind of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley whilst he was flicking through the pages of a lingerie catalogue, and one could certainly be forgiven for thinking that that's how things went down. In actuality, though, Michael Bay met Rosie Huntington-Whiteley when he worked with her on an overblown Victoria's Secret ad. Huntington-Whiteley was one of a bunch of models who appeared in the commercial, which looks exactly how you'd imagine it to look, given that it comes from the man who put the "ex" in "explosion." Once the shoot was over - and knowing that he was lacking a "hot chick" for his next Transformers movie - he urged Huntington-Whiteley to audition for the part. She got the role, of course, one that would later brand as "terrifying and insane and exhilarating and incredibly draining." She also claims to have predicated that the critics would pan her acting, but decided to just go for it anyway. Brave stuff, Rosie. Props.
