10 Things You Learn Re-Watching Prometheus

1. Charlize Theron's Death Isn't As Dumb As You Think

Alongside the scientists removing their helmets, the most complained-about scene from the movie is Meredith Vickers' (Charlize Theron) death after the Engineer's ship crashes back to Earth and crushes her.

The argument from many fans is that, had Vickers simply ran to the side, she would've been safe from the ship killing her, but on repeat viewings, it becomes clear that the scene makes total sense from her perspective.

Think about it: you're running like your life depends on it, there's debris flying around you, and you don't have the luxury of turning around to get a clear perspective of the ship's path. What the Hell are you supposed to do?

Unlike the audience, Vickers doesn't have a gorgeous wide shot to properly assess the situation, so while it's easy to glibly mock her death, her actions actually make a ton of sense if you consider how a human being would realistically behave in the situation. Let it go, guys.
