10 Things You Learn Rewatching Alien
8. The Cast Chemistry Is Perfectly Relaxed
The newer Alien films, with their mostly forgettable characters, have only further illustrated just how fantastic the original film's band of space truckers truly were.
Even though character development clearly wasn't a huge priority, Scott is efficient in quickly making the audience care about these people, largely thanks to the chemistry between the cast.
Seeing Parker (Yaphet Kotto) and Brett (Harry Dean Stanton) complaining about economic equality on the ship could've proven boring, but it informs their personalities and adds another wrinkle to the already well-noted power dynamic on the ship.

It might seem like one of the simpler aspects of a technically complex movie, but making the cast seem this relaxed and familiar with one another without relying on heaps of expository dialogue sure isn't easy.
