10 Things You Learn Rewatching Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
5. Zero Logic
The film doesn't just have logic gaps, it is one big logic gap.
From the first moment the Dangertainment crew sets foot in the Myers house, it is established; the real Michael Myers is already there. But because this thing needed to stretch to feature-length, the film stops dead in its tracks and just has the character roam around the house freely for the next thirty minutes of the movie without Michael doing much of anything.
And then when Michael does finally start doing things, it raises even more questions. If all of the characters are stuck inside of the relatively small Myers house, how do none of them hear what the others are doing? Bill is the first member of the main cast to die, getting stabbed through the head as he screams bloody murder, yet no one else in the house hears any of this.
This isn't an exception for this film, its the norm. It pays so little attention to its own established rules that it is mind-numbing. Early on, it's established that each of the characters has a camera attached to them and that there are additional cameras stationed all around the house, and that online viewers can choose to watch any camera they want at any time.
So then how do none of the viewers see the initial murders? And how can Busta Rhymes, dressed up as Michael Myers, have a secretive conversation with the real Michael about he's going to blow his cover if everyone's watching them?
Zero logic or thought was put into any of this.
