November 19th, 2021. The film was originally pegged for a prime summer tentpole release in late July, but the coronavirus pandemic has seen it and its sequel shuffle to autumnal release dates instead (M:I 8 will follow almost a year later, on November 4th, 2022).
The new date sets it up for a day-and-date clash with Will Smith's tennis biopic King Richard, and sees it land a week after the third Fantastic Beasts outing makes its way into cinemas, and a week before Ridley Scott's Gucci drama starring Lady Gaga shuffles through the multiplex doors.
In terms of major franchise competition, it will still have to fight against the currently untitled third entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man franchise, which arrives on November 5th, 2021 - though it then has four weeks of play before Avatar 2 arrives in the pre-Christmas corridor.
(M:I 8 faces some tougher compeitition as it stands, with Shazam! 2 and an unknown Disney live-action film set to land on the same date - but given that Fallout poseted the franchise's best-ever box office haul previously, it's likely that its rivals may cede that spot to it.)
