2. The First One Is Casting Now (For A Female Lead)

The scripting issues clearly haven't had much of an impact of the first spin-off, however, as recent reports have revealed the casting process has begun. The Force Awakens famously had an open casting call (admittedly to build hype rather than actually out of hope of finding a fan-actor), but the next film looks to be targeting a bit closer to the A-List. Edwards is reportedly looking at the likes of Rooney Mara, Tatiana Maslany and Felicity Jones to play the lead in the film, which reveals a massive, previously unannounced bit of info - it's a female-led Star Wars movie.
