10 Things You Only Notice Rewatching Snyder's DCEU Movies

5. Kryptonian Head Crushing

Another blink and you’ll miss it moment now, although this isn’t a moment of deep symbolism or a creative callback to any of Snyder’s earlier work. Instead, it’s just a surprisingly gory moment which probably would have caused issues for Man Of Steel’s age rating had it been more prominent.

The final battle of Man Of Steel saw Superman trying to fend off alien invasion, leading to inevitable arguments between DC and Marvel fans surrounding Superman & the Avengers. He did the job of six people, in theory, but they were better at limiting the damage, casualties and the spread of the invaders.

In one scene, we see one of Zod’s Kryptonian soldiers land on top of one of the military planes and toss the pilot out. At least, that’s how it appears.

Throwing somebody out of a crashing plane in a city is clearly dangerous, but assuming they’re wearing a parachute, there’s at least a chance of survival. The vaguely human like shape we see flying out of the plane isn’t a person at all though; it’s blood. Close inspection on the fast moving seen shows us that the Kryptonian in fact pops the pilot’s head open like a melon.
