10 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Dumbo (1941)
3. The Debut Of TWO Disney Legends
Sterling Holloway is one of the greatest Disney legends because of the excellent vocal work he did for several films within the franchise.
Holloway was the original voice of Winnie the Pooh and also played the Cheshire cat in Alice In Wonderland. Within Dumbo, Sterling plays Mr Stork - the stork who is late for his delivery and almost loses the cargo within a cloud.
The same can be said for Verna Felton, who was frequently called back to the studios to lend her voice to Disney movies. Some of Felton's movies include Cinderella, Lady & The Tramp and Sleeping Beauty.
It's also worth mentioning that, in an example of very bizarre typecasting, Verna Felton voiced four different elephants for Disney - Mrs Jumbo and the Elephant Merchant in Dumbo, Eloise in Goliath II (1960) and Winifred in The Jungle Book (1967).
