Though Danny Boyle's 127 Hours was ultimately one of the most critically acclaimed movies of 2010, being nominated for six Oscars including Best Picture and Best Actor, it didn't have the smoothest of coming-out parties during its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Though the screening was famous for causing numerous audience members to pass out during the brutal sequence in which Aron Ralston (James Franco) crudely amputates his own arm with a blunt knife, the simple organisation of the premiere itself left many potential viewers furious.

For starters, the screening was massively over-subscribed, resulting in 1,000 prospective attendees queuing for just 500 seats.

To make matters worse, technical difficulties resulted in the screening starting an hour late, leading to a loud chorus of boos echoing throughout the queue.

One attendee hilariously said, "it seems as if we’ve waited 127 Hours to see this movie." Thankfully the actual screening itself went off without any further trouble, with critics and audiences alike lavishing praise upon it despite its grisly tendencies.
