10 Times Movies Panicked And CHANGED THE ENDING Just Before Release

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a history of making changes to their movies until incredibly close to release, though the recent Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania took this to a whole other level.

Some fans noted that the movie's ending, where the heroes defeat Kang (Jonathan Major) and escape the Quantum Realm, didn't line up with an October 2022 plot leak which was otherwise 100% accurate.

The ending detailed in the leak saw Kang escape the Quantum Realm and leave Scott (Paul Rudd) and Hope (Evangeline Lilly) trapped there, before the film concluded on a cliffhanger as Cassie (Kathryn Newton) made a shocking, unseen discovery.

Yet as several reliable insiders noted, this ending was tossed out mere weeks before Quantumania's release, with the cast returning in mid-January - less than a month before the movie's premiere - to shoot a new finale.

It's unclear precisely why the reshoots happened, though it's entirely possible the plan for Kang has changed since principal photography wrapped, and so a new conclusion needed to be thrown together.

If you thought Quantumania's ending felt a little bit off, this is probably why.
