10 Times Star Wars Gave Fans EXACTLY What They Wanted

Long-awaited Force Ghosts, epic returns, and more times Star Wars delivered fans the goods.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Part VI

If the last few years have revealed anything about the Star Wars fandom as a whole, it's that they're not half a tough bunch to please in their entirety.

For every passionate Force-sensitive fan celebrating the decision to take the franchise in a bold new direction, there's usually another lamenting said unanticipated change in direction for not sticking to the tried and tested formula that came before it.

But every now and again, this galaxy far, far away has a pleasant habit of landing on a scenario that forces just about every Star Wars obsessed fanatic in the universe to join together in saluting whatever screen they're facing and remember why they fell in love with this Skywalker-stuffed universe in the first place.

From jaw-dropping rematches that more than lived up to the hype, to the long-awaited return of some of the galaxy's most cherished figures, Star Wars fans may not be able to agree on most things when it pertains to this corner of space, but next to no one will argue with the following moments all being instances of Force-infused fan service done right...

10. The Rematch Of The Century

Obi-Wan Kenobi Part VI

While a decent amount of Disney+'s latest Star Wars small screen offering was dedicated to characters outside of the titular Jedi-in-hiding and his fallen apprentice, most of the attention was quite rightly focused on a certain "Rematch of the Century" coming into Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Yet, instead of simply carting out the two former brothers in arms to duke it out just the once after spending nearly two decades away from the Star Wars spotlight, Deborah Chow and Kathleen Kennedy gifted fans with the sight of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen's Ben Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader crossing lightsabers on three separate and wholly satisfying occasions.

An Obi-Wan absolute mauling at the hands of the rage-fuelled Dark Lord in Part III was eventually followed by a digitally de-aged bout of training between master and padawan from before the Clone Wars in Part V.

And if that wasn't enough, the iconic figures were given one last chance to truly let loose against one another in the series finale, with Kenobi reverting back to a classic stance, Vader finally getting the high ground, and a merging of Christensen and James Earl Jones' unmistakable voices post-mask-smashing all leaving fans needing a serious lie down.
