10 Marvel Movie Characters We All Thought Were Dead

1. Tony Stark

At the end of the Avengers movie, the World Security Council felt they had no other option than to strike Manhattan with a nuclear missile to defeat the invading Chitauri army. Despite Nick Fury's objections, they went ahead and had the missile launched. Fury immediately contacted Tony Stark, asking him to intercept the missile. Stark agreed to do so, stating that he knew "exactly where to put it". He guided it in to the portal from which the Chitauri emerged, heading in to deep space to do so. While the missile destroyed the alien's mothership - and subsequently all of its invading drones - Stark lapsed in to unconsciousness before lifelessly falling back to Earth. The Hulk caught him as he fell and laid him in the middle of a New York street. With his fellow Avengers around him, Stark remained unconscious and was apparently dead - that is until a loud and abrupt Hulk roar woke him up. Seriously - would Marvel Studios ever kill off Iron Man? Somehow, it seems unlikely. So there you have it - ten times when we thought Marvel Cinematic Universe characters had died when they actually hadn't. Did you like this list?
