10 Toho Kaiju Who Need To Appear In The MonsterVerse After Godzilla Vs. Kong

The giant lobster kaiju Ebirah first debuted in the 1966 film Ebirah, Horror of the Deep, titled Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster in certain territories, as well as returning in 1969’s All Monsters Attack and 2004’s Godzilla: Final Wars. While not one of Godzilla’s deadliest foes in his Toho appearances, Legendary could certainly give him a power boost and make Ebirah fit in with the cast of the MonsterVerse.

Ebirah was inadvertently created by the terrorist organisation ‘Red Bamboo’, who had a base on Letchi Island. The giant crustacean was mutated by waste from the terrorists’ base and patrolled the waters around the island, destroying any ships that came close. The Red Bamboo were able to avoid this, however, by using a yellow juice that repelled Ebirah. The events of the film lead Ebirah to clash with Godzilla, who rips the claws from the crustacean. Another incarnation of Ebirah appeared in Godzilla: Final Wars under the control of the Xiliens; however, Godzilla once again made quick work of him.

A major plot point introduced in 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monster is the hollow earth, which Godzilla uses to navigate the globe. These ancient tunnels are not fully explored in the film, and a powered up Ebirah would be the perfect kaiju to have lurking bellow, ready and waiting for his debut in the MonsterVerse.
