10 Tragic Movie Endings That Probably Had Awesome Silver Linings

3. Seven

The Tragic Ending: €œWhat€™s in the baaaaaaax?€ What indeed, Detective Mills (Brad Pitt) - after a serial killer known only as John Doe (Kevin Spacey) has spent the whole movie executing people in gruesome ways that reference the seven deadly sins, it€™s inconceivable that he€™d do something like turn himself in and mail a package to the investigating officer with his wife€™s head inside. Except that€™s exactly what he does. Having covered gluttony, greed, sloth, lust and pride already, Doe sticks Tracy Mills€™s disembodied melon inside a box and has it delivered to her husband as a display of envy. Detective Mills then shoots John Doe in the head, which inside Doe€™s ridiculous mind is a sign of wrath, the final item on his list. The Silver Lining: John Doe is never going to harm another soul. For one, there are no sins left for him to cover, and secondly he€™s dead, so the likelihood of him killing more people in inventively horrible ways ever again is very slim.
