For what it's worth, trailers are arguably the most misleading part of the entire movie marketing process. Despite the hype built on the back of them, you should never look too deeply into what a trailer presents, because there's a certain amount of trickery fundamentally intended. Because a trailer is like a short film in its own right, an editor can use hours of footage and unlimited soundtrack cues to present whatever they wish to all those who gaze upon a trailer for those all-important two and a half minutes. And so, naturally, a good movie can end up looking terrible, or a bad movie can end up looking outright fantastic. Two minutes are a lot easier to sell than 120, after all. It's great when a trailer manages to nail it; when a studio successfully manages to market a motion picture in a way that is representative of the final product without giving too much of the story away. Such a thing is rare, of course, and often trailers end up making movie-goers incredibly nervous about what's in store for them. Which is what has happened with regards to the following 10 movies, all of which are set to be some of 2016's biggest releases. Here's hoping it's just a false alarm...
