The Amazing Spider-Man franchise is officially dead. The movies were a disappointment, promising "The Untold Story" which fans never got to see. Instead, it rehashed elements from 2002's Spider-Man, while also introducing some very confusing new plot threads. Regardless, those who did enjoy actually enjoy Marc Webb's two releases are now left with a long list of questions about the many different characters introduced, the story-lines being set up for a third instalment (and a number of spinoffs), and more besides. To the majority fans, the recent news about Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures coming to a deal which will see Spidey join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016's Captain America: Civil War is most welcome. However, one of the biggest downsides to Spider-Man swinging his way into the world of Iron Man and the Guardians Of The Galaxy is the fact that there are so many unresolved plot threads from the rebooted series. And, of course, another reboot means Marvel won't address any of them.
