The Amazing Spider-Man franchise is officially dead. The movies were a disappointment, promising "The Untold Story" which fans never got to see. Instead, it rehashed elements from 2002's Spider-Man, while also introducing some very confusing new plot threads. Regardless, those who did enjoy actually enjoy Marc Webb's two releases are now left with a long list of questions about the many different characters introduced, the story-lines being set up for a third instalment (and a number of spinoffs), and more besides.
