While he may have played a rather stoic tracker throughout John McTiernan's classic sci-fi horror Predator, in real-life Sonny Landham was actually a bit more unhinged.

That's according to the movie's assistant director Beau Marks at least, who recalled that "Sonny... was crazy," when talking about the late actor to The Hollywood Reporter.

In fact, the actor could become so unpredictable and out of control after consuming alcohol, it even got to the point where the crew felt they needed to hire a bodyguard to follow Landham around. Not to protect him, but to keep everyone else on the planet safe!

One of Landham's co-stars Bill Duke - who played Mac Eliot - also revealed a story about one of the times the actors went down to a club on the weekend when they were off work.

After losing track of Sonny here, the gang finally found the actor crawling around on the floor, kissing or touching the legs of women on the dance floor.

That sort of entirely inappropriate behaviour gave the crew no choice but to bring in some added security to keep an eye on the Billy actor until they'd finished shooting this tale of elite military men taking on a badass alien.

A grown man being pretty much babysat by a bodyguard during a film shoot? As unbelievable as it sounds, that's exactly what happened.
