We've already covered how a performer's efforts on a horror film set surprisingly left them without a voice for a few days. But it's now time to talk about the time an actor nearly lost something else... permanently.

2011's You're Next, directed by Adam Wingard, is a slasher picture which tells the story of a family being attacked by masked individuals at a reunion. And it was during the filming of the scene involving Tariq's shocking death via crossbow bolt when Sharni Vinson very nearly suffered a horrific fate in real life.

As Vinson dove under the table as Erin during this intense sequence, the actor's face collided with her co-star Amy Seimetz - or more specifically, the high heels she was wearing as Aimee Davison in the scene.

When talking about the moment for Bloody Distgusting's 10th Anniversary Oral History piece, Vinson would admit that the centre of her eye was about "two centimetres" away from the stiletto part of Seimetz's heels. The collision even left her with a black eye and a bit of blood being drawn.

It also meant that Wingard couldn't shoot Vinson's face clearly for a while, instead resorting to capturing the moments that only required the side of her face or back of her head until she'd healed up.

So, in a scene involving people being murdered by crossbows, it turned out that, incredibly, fashion was the real danger here.
