Speaking of committed performers, there's no denying that the great Tony Todd falls into that category for his brave work during the making of 1992's Candyman.

Wandering around as the titular ghost known for killing any foolish person who says their name five times, while also being accompanied by a bunch of bees, Todd actually wasn't protected by the magic of CGI here. Instead, he had to unbelievably let many very real bees crawl all over his face and into his mouth in the movie.

Perhaps more incredible than the fact he had to go through that probably quite stressful experience on set, though, is the interesting behind-the-scenes deal Todd made with the folks paying his wage.

In the end, the actor negotiated a sweet $1,000 bonus for every time he was stung by these buzzing co-stars. And with Todd ultimately experiencing a bee sting 23 times while on set, that meant he walked away with a cool $23k for his pain.

The star himself would later claim that "everything that’s worth making has to involve some sort of pain," (via The Guardian) before also adding, "once I realised it was an important part of who Candyman was, I embraced it. It was like putting on a beautiful coat."

That's one lively piece of fashion Todd can keep to himself.
