Rotten Tomatoes: 38% An adaptation of the famous play Pygmalion with a screenplay co-written by M. Night Shyamalan (albeit uncredited)? She's All That is rightly criticised for its frankly absurd narrative, namely that anyone could view Rachael Leigh Cook as plain and unattractive (something again taken to task brilliantly in Not Another Teen Movie), yet the movie still has a breezy charm, largely thanks to the game performances and, well, that scene where The Shermiantor is made to eat a pizza with his own pubes on it. Sure, it could have been more self-aware and it's incredibly predictable, but it's a harmless, easy to watch feel-good flick with attractive people, and sometimes that's plenty. It may have in many respects been completely outdone by Not Another Teen Movie, but Cook is lovely as the lead, the often-bland Prinze Jr. isn't bad either, and the film's moral message is undeniably strong. Also, keep your eyes out for a young(ish) Paul Walker in a supporting role.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
