10 Underrated Comedy Performances In Film

7. Letitia Wright - Black Panther (2018)

Charm is the name of the game when it comes to the MCU. Even the most ostensibly serious characters get to crack wise every now and then, but no one does it with as much joy and twinkle as Letitia Wright’s Shuri.

In a role that is sure to make the Londoner a soon-to-be household name, Wright provided the perfect dose of annoying little sister energy to her brother King T’Challa. Only this little sister is an inventor and a tech genius unrivalled by anyone, not even Bruce Banner. “I’m sure you did your best,” she says to him when he admits to making a programming error. Withering.

Shuri truly is a timely character in a genre traditionally dominated by men and masculinity. She’s sparky, witty, fiercely intelligent, and in no mood to be anything like the Disney Princesses that preceded her: “this corset is really uncomfortable so can we all just wrap it up and go home?”

Stand-Out Moment: Upon seeing her older brother wearing sandals. “The real question is what are thoooose?!”
