Brie Larson already boasts an Oscar to her name for Room, and with Captain Marvel has stepped into the A-list, knocking her solo film out of the park and primed to step up as one of the leading Avengers in this new phase.

However, with Unicorn Store, her great run of form seems to have come to an end. A rarity here, Larson’s movie is actually already out, having released on Netflix April 5th. However, the movie’s been ready to go for two years, with Larson struggling to get it picked up before Netflix, likely banking on her recently risen stock, offered her a lifeline.

The film is a light hearted comedy starring Larson herself alongside her Captain Marvel buddy, Samuel L. Jackson.

Like a reverse Needful Things, the script revolves around Kit (Larson’s character) getting her childhood wish granted by a magical store, allowing her to own a unicorn.

The movie currently sits at 5.5 on IMDb, with an even lower 44 Metacritic, so this may be Larson’s one and only time behind the camera. Rotten Tomatoes makes for slightly better reading at 63%, so it just edges a Fresh rating.

Still, the acting career is still soaring, so no harm no foul.
