10 Unfilmed Movie Scenes That Explain Crucial Details

5. Where Did The Ammo Go? - Saving Private Ryan

Saving Private Ryan is a classic film for sure, though isn't it curious that Captain Miller and his men spend pretty much the entire movie with a scarce supply of ammo, and not a single mode of transport?

Well, the original script featured a scene in which Miller and his men left Omaha Beach in a jeep, stocked with all the Nazi-killing ammo they'd possibly need. During a battle, the jeep along with all of the equipment gets destroyed, and so the gang have to continue their pursuit on foot - but isn't this scene sort of important?

References to the scene remain in the final cut, perhaps as an attempt to tacitly explain why these men weren't sent out in transport and with little to no ammo. Thankfully, Spielberg's film is so finely crafted in all other areas that it's something we're prepared to look past. Just about.
