10 Unintentionally Hilarious Horror Movies

1. The Happening

M Night Shyamalan is an intriguing filmmaker whose career trajectory - just like his films - had a dramatic plot twist. Everyone was expecting him to be the next big thing after the phenomenal Sixth Sense, but that never happened as his projects became laughably bad.

The Happening ranks as one of the worst movies that he has ever created. It follows a narrative in which plants begin convincing people to commit suicide. A family must navigate the world and attempt to survive within it. The concept is just absurd, but the execution makes it even worse. Shyamalan's love for dramatic close-ups gives the film an abysmal look, and the writing ends with every character sounding ridiculous. But the most egregious element is the acting that is so atrocious it is unwatchable at times.

The film almost feels as though it was created to be a subversive comedy. Almost like a movie that tricks you into taking it seriously to make the laughs stronger. However, that is not the case, as not only was the intention to scare the audience, but the director seemed to want it to educate and make a point.

It fails on every level that it attempts to achieve and is each actor in the film's worst ever performance.
