10 Unintentionally Hilarious Movie Deaths

9. Sir Edmund Burton - Transformers: The Last Knight

The only thing more ridiculous than Anthony Hopkins showing up in a Transformers movie? How his character, Sir Edmund Burton, perishes.

Burton is present during the climactic action sequence at Stonehenge, where he's shot and killed by Megatron (Frank Welker), which is supposed to be a tragic moment for the audience, except Michael Bay opted to film it in the most deeply silly fashion possible.

For starters, it's hilariously obvious that Anthony Hopkins has no idea what he's supposed to be doing or where the digital Megatron is supposed to be painted in later - he's simply looking around in every direction except the exact spot where the giant metal robot is actually pointing an arm-cannon at him.

Then, we get to witness Burton get catapulted through the air by the shot in comically overblown slow-mo, Burton balletically flipping around while inexplicably keeping hold of his cane. And to top it all off, Hopkins then gets a moment to give a gravitas-laden Dying Speech to his robot butler Cogman (Jim Carter) that couldn't feel more out of step with the junky goofiness of the entire endeavour.

God bless you Michael Bay and your outrageous aversion to tonal consistency.
