Unless you're a board game nerd, you've probably never heard of Monsterpocalypse, a monster-filled (well, obviously) collectible miniatures game based on the popular Japanese Kaiju films, such as Godzilla and Mothra. Back in 2010, it was revealed that Tim Burton and frequent collaborator scriptwriter John August were working on a film version of the game.

While it has never been confirmed as cancelled, it is likely the film will never arise, possibly due to the success of another Kaiju-inspired movie, Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific Rim, released in 2012. It's a shame as Burton, a self-confessed fan of Kaiju movies, would have been a perfect match for the material - especially as he has already translated a game to the screen with Mars Attacks!, which was based on a 1950s card game.
