10 Unmade Tim Burton Films That Would Have Been Awesome

Compared to others on this list which would have suited Burton to a T, it is a shame this next entry never happened as it sounds like it could have been an interesting departure for the director.

Around the time of his high point in the mid-nineties - Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Ed Wood - Burton pursued the curious idea of turning Japanese manga Mai, The Psychic Girl into a musical. The original comic book sees 14 year old Mai being hunted by the evil Wisdom Alliance who wish to capture her and other powerful children to control the world.

Back in 2010 Burton apparently renewed his interest in making the film but nothing has appeared since. Next year Burton will release Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, which also features super-powered kids, so don't get your hopes up for Mai materializing any time soon.
