10 Unmade Tim Burton Films That Would Have Been Awesome
4. The Addams Family
On the opposite end of the scale from Mai, The Psychic Girl, there is this property that is crying out to be given the Tim Burton treatment: The Addams Family.
Illumination Entertainment, the animation company most famous for the Despicable Me franchise, bought the rights to the Addams Family in 2010 and sought Tim Burton to direct a stop-motion film of the kooky, ooky clan. Unfortunately, for unknown reasons, the project was cancelled back in 2013.
This is a crying shame as Burton's stop motion work - including directing Corpse Bride and Frankenweenie and producing Nightmare Before Christmas and James And The Giant Peach - is probably the most consistent area of his filmmaking and his gothic visual style and the world of the Addams would have snapped together like a click of the fingers.
