Otherwise known as "The Moses Movie," famed director Ridley Scott has turned his attention to the Bible for inspiration for his next film, which looks to be something akin to "Gladiator with plagues." Christian Bale stars as the man who parted the tides in this potential epic, with support from Joel Edgerton. Already, from obsessively watching the trailer, it's plain to see that - on a visual level, at least - Scott is working at the height of his powers. Sure to cause controversy in the same way that Darren Aronofsky's Noah did earlier in the year, Gods and Kings also features the talents of Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver and Aaron Paul, which means that it's certainly not short of iconic stars. Hopefully the script - penned by acclaimed screenwriter Steven Zaillian, who also wrote Schindler's List - will live up to the epic visuals. If so, this really could have all the makings of a modern classic.
