10 Unresolved Plot Points From The First Era Of DCEU Movies
6. Who Or What Came Out Of The Open Kryptonian Pod?
In Man of Steel, Clark Kent discovers a Kryptonian ship which serves as a makeshift "Fortress of Solitude!" where he discovers his costume and communicates with his father. However, eagle-eyed comic book fans spotted that one of the pods was open, a sign that one of the aliens on board survived when it landed on Earth thousands of years before.
A tie-in comic book pointed to that being Kara Zor-El, a.k.a. Supergirl, but those are never truly canon, and Zack Snyder would later claim he wasn't trying to tease that character's big screen introduction. However, there's no way that pod was left open by mistake, and it must have been teasing something!
If not Supergirl, then we have no idea who it could be, and with it ultimately a rather minor moment - albeit one that generated a lot of chatter online - we're not expecting Warner Bros. to ever address it.
After all, Henry Cavill's time as Superman has seemingly reached its end, and even though recent rumours have pointed to a planned Supergirl being scrapped, we don't think even that was going to tie into Man of Steel, unless the plan was to follow the character thousands of years in the past.
