10 Unused Star Wars Scenes That Would Have Changed Everything

6. The Force Awakens Stormtrooper Encounter

A sequence cut from the battle of Maz's castle, in The Force Awakens, was presumably snipped for pacing reasons and because Maz's pseudo-Jedi powers would have been used to get the characters out of a jam.

Not wanting to confirm Maz as a space wizard, the filmmakers chose to nix this scene which helps re-affirm Han Solo as a quick-thinking chancer.

Han, Finn and Maz are confronted by dastardly stormtroopers in the basement of Maz's castle, and Han, in classic loveable rogue form, tries to talk his way out of it. He even refers to Finn's stormtrooper boots, filling in a missing plot point about how Han was able to guess Finn's ex-stormtrooper origins.

We see both Han's winning, princess-stealing smirk and his equally adorable flummoxedness when things go wrong. Sadly it all ended up on the digital cutting room floor, so we're left to imagine how the old space dog Han has kept to his fast-talking shenanigans.
