Finally getting to step onto a movie set with an actor you've adored and admired from afar for an age must be a pretty epic experience for just about any thespian working today.

However, it's worth noting that sometimes meeting your heroes isn't all its cracked up to be, even within the acting sphere. Just ask a deeply disappointed Mickey Rourke, with The Wrestler and Sin City star letting it be known a few years back that working with Robert De Niro on 1987's Angel Heart was something of a let-down.

Upon first coming up against the movie icon on set, Rourke was stunned to hear his co-star suddenly let him know, "I think it’s better if we don’t talk because of characters in the movie. It’s better if we don’t say hello, talk or anything."

As expected of a performer who'd looked up to the Raging Bull star "like Marlon Brando, Al Pacino,” the entire scenario "hurt (his) feelings a bit".

On top of this, Rourke would also claim that De Niro insisted on his co-star not touching him during one specific scene that required some contact, another unusual move that led Rourke to defiantly confessing, "Now, I don't look up to him no more, I look through him."
