10 Upcoming 2015 Movies That Won't Make Their Money Back

1. Terminator Genisys

$170 million dollars is a lot of money. Despite the fact that The Terminator franchise is a hugely popular one, it also happens to be super flawed - continuity errors, bad installments, a super old Arnold Schwarzenegger, a sense of awkward deterioration... these are just a few of the things that the words "Terminator" remind fans of these days. Which is another way of saying that people have become a little weary of Terminator ever since the last two movies didn't really work out. The studio has piled $170 million dollars into Terminator Genisys, an inherently confusing "sequel" that also happens to be both a prequel, a retcon and a reboot at the same time - a notion that is instantly alienating and sure to put off long-term fans of the series in their masses. Arnie's back, yes, but he's also nearly 70 years old - has Hollywood really reached the point where it's necessary to indulge former action stars to such a bizarre extent? You'd guess, then, that Terminator Genisys - which stars Emilia Clarke and Jai Courtesy as Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese respectively - needs to pull in well over $300 million in order to ensure that all its costs are covered, marketing and distribution included. Though that seems pretty likely to happen, there's also a real chance that Genisys - with its annoying title - could prove too jarring a concept for mainstream audiences to get to grips with. Truly, there's no guarantee that this will make its money back. And if it turns out to be as bad as it looks in the trailer, negative press and word of mouth could doom this clawing attempt to rebuild a franchise to the pits of hell.
