Anyone who watched last year's Night Manager will be quick to praise Susanne Bier, who directed the entirety of the mini-series.

The show - which starred Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and Olivia Colman - was a flawless adaptation of the le Carré classic, and was also just about the best espionage related thing of the past two years. Bier was instrumental in its success, and with an Academy Award to her name too, it's clear that the filmmaker is ideally suited for a big blockbuster outing.

Talk of a Black Widow solo movie has stalled this past year, but fans are by no means less excited by the prospect of one nearing production. Scarlett Johansson's character has long been an MCU favourite, and although there's little chance of movement happening before 2020, one can only hope that Bier's name is on the shortlist for when it does, eventually, get going.
