Disney were perhaps as shocked as everyone else last year when Guardians Of The Galaxy turned out to be such a huge hit - the film hardly drew on the best and brightest Marvel characters out there, and Chris Pratt had no track record starring in huge blockbusters outside of his voice work for The LEGO Movie. Still, given that it was a runaway success and Pratt's performance had a lot to do with the film's popularity it's not at all surprising that a sequel will be winging its way to us in 2017. Since the original was actually pretty good on top of being financially successful (unlike other big hits last year such as the latest Transformers and the dreadful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) there's a chance the sequel will follow in its footsteps. Pratt's character Peter Quill went from being an asshole thief through to bona fide hero over the course of the first movie, so it will be interesting to see where they take the character next. With James Gunn set to return for directing duties it should be just as much fun second time around.
