10 Upcoming Film Reboots Nobody Asked For

5. xXx

Xxxxx Stl 16 H Cr If you haven't seen xXx and you care above it being spoiled for some reason, please skip to the next entry. When a film is remembered more for the death of a stunt man occurring during production, and not the actual film itself, then you know that nobody will care about a reboot of a film that sounds like a porno. Although the first film was a box office hit, the unrealistic action sequences, anorexic-thin plot, and shabby performances made it a flop amongst critics, and rightly so. It went on to win the wonderfully titled Razzie Award for "Most Flatulent Teen-Targeted Movie." It was also amazing that the Ice Cube-starring sequel (worst casting imaginable), managed to do significantly worse, recording losses of over $40 million. In a possible bid for producers to justify rebooting this forgetful franchise, they might want to mention the following information. On the xXx: Director's Cut DVD, there was an extra titled "The Final Chapter: The Death of Xander Cage," in which, hilariously, Vin Diesel's stunt double, portraying the absent actor's character, is blown to smithereens. The reboot, titled xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, has close to no plot details, but the DVD extra suggests that he may not have been blown straight to hell (where he belongs) after all. This would be a stupid decision from the filmmakers, as even fans of xXx probably haven't seen the extra feature, as they're probably not the sort to dedicate time to watching DVD extras in the first place.
