10 Upcoming MCU Castings We Already Know

Several actors who've been cast in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 haven't yet had their characters confirmed, and one such performer is Daniela Melchior, who last year played breakout character Ratcatcher 2 in Gunn's The Suicide Squad.

Deadline called Melchior's part in the film a "small role," but had no further information on who she might be playing.

Though many fans initially speculated that Melchior could have won the part of fan favourite superhero and eventual Guardian of the Galaxy Moondragon, Gunn himself confirmed this wasn't the case.

But leaker GreatPhase stated earlier in the year that Melchior would instead be portraying Phyla-Vell, an extremely powerful Titanian-Kree Hybrid who is the daughter of the original Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell, in the comics.

Phyla-Vell played a major role in the Annihilation comic storyline, so with the persistent rumours that the next MCU phase will borrow heavily from Annihilation, introducing her in even a cursory capacity in Guardians Vol. 3 makes a lot of sense.

This will also presumably tee Phyla-Vell up to assume a major future role in the Guardians team.
