5. Daredevil
It's a decade almost to this day that the Ben Affleck-starring superhero flop Daredevil came and went, disappointing us all with its broad strokes and inherent misunderstanding of the character. Affleck swore off ever starring as the character again in 2006, and ever since, studio heads have been scrambling to try and find the right vision to bring the esteemed superhero back to the big screen. In 2011, David Slade was earmarked to direct, but dropped out, and though Joe Carnahan offered his own pitch for the project, it was subsequently rejected. The rights for the franchise reverted back to Marvel and Disney in October of last year, giving them free reign to pursue the project themselves, something they are reportedly in the early stages of doing, though few details are out yet. Given how a decade of time and energy has already been spent trying to bring this reboot to fruition, will it ever really happen? And if it does, everyone's probably going to be so drained that it'll be a soporific mess, that is unless Marvel do opt for Carnahan's gritty, 1970s-inspired R-rated take (which they won't).
