10 Upcoming Movie Remakes NOBODY Wants

There can be absolutely no doubt that Disney is the worst culprit when it comes to rebooting popular franchises. The House of Mouse will, every few years, take a beloved animated movie, drain the magic and the soul from it, and release it in live-action form to earn an easy billion dollars.

When the "live-action" remake of The Jungle Book released in 2016, at the very least there was some stunning CGI on display. When The Lion King released three years later, however, this was no longer groundbreaking, and the film was received as a bland, unexpressive, almost shot-for-shot retelling of one of the classics.

The problem is that The Lion King still made over a billion dollars because of its name, and so a sequel is in production and set to release in 2025. This will likely be open to the same criticisms as the 2019 outing, and the majority of the previous live-action reboots, as well as one blasphemous casting decision.

There are some things from popular movies that are held sacred by almost the entire fanbase, and Mufasa being portrayed by James Earl Jones is one of them. The fact that he will be replaced as Simba's father in Mufasa: The Lion King - a hybrid sequel and prequel at the same time - may be enough to see it written off immediately.
